Justin Morken
Justin Morken is Director of Product Design for Coursera’s consumer design team, which partners with Google, Facebook, Intuit, Salesforce, and leading universities around the world to revolutionize access to education and tech jobs through innovative online training programs. Fast Company has named Coursera one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies.
Prior to Coursera, Justin was a design leader at Intuit (QuickBooks), which is consistently recognized among the Best Places to Work, among the Top 10 Most Admired Computer Software Companies in the world, and is well-known in the design community for its design-thinking frameworks of CDI and D4D.
Justin co-founded the UX Design certificate program at Boise State University’s College of Innovation and Design, serving as an Adj. Professor of UX Design, graduated from Stanford Graduate School of Business’ LEAD Business Program, and has a Master’s of Science in UX Design from Kent State University.
RemoteDesignLeadership.com is the intersection of three of his passions: well-designed products, leading healthy teams (where people can do the best work of their life), and remote-friendly workplaces.
Justin is an advocate of remote-friendly teams because he believes everyone should have the opportunity to work in the tech industry, regardless of place of origin or geography—whether someone lives in a large metropolitan, a small town, or somewhere in between.
In addition to writing, he is an experienced public speaker and loves giving public talks for conferences, workshops, and educational settings on UX/product design, persuasive UX, cultivating healthy team culture, and especially on remote design leadership.
